About Me:

A small warning: I am rather older than most Web 1/Web Revival/HTML Hobbiests. In fact I am currently 64 years old. When I began creating my own sites I was in my mid 30's. I began, not with Geocities, but with the free webspace given by my first isp. That was Demon, and my first site was called "Ribbon", solely because that was our username at the time. I very quickly discovered Geocities, and the rest, as they say, is history. From that site I went on to having my own domain. My first one was given to me by my sister, in 1999, as a birthday present. I still have that site today and it is my "flagship" personal website. If you are interested, it is Serennau.

After Geocities, I had to try out just about every free webspace provider there was. And there were lots of them! Fortunecity was the British copy of Geocities, and there were so many others. Some of them were targetted at one demographic, such as Third Age, which was for people over the age of 50. The big news and features sites aimed at women, Women.com and iVillage, also gave free webspace. As the free spaces vanished, I bought webspace, and domains too. You could say I am rather addicted to both!
